The former English fast bowler initially found success with the Warriorz during the inaugural WPL season. In 2023, he guided the team to a third-place finish, before they were defeated by the Mumbai Indians, who ultimately won the championship.

However, the team's performance declined in the subsequent seasons of 2024 and 2025. They finished fourth in 2024 and ended up at the bottom of the table in 2025. In 2025, the UPW struggled due to injuries to key players and a change in captaincy, with Deepti Sharma taking over. The team's inconsistency and imbalance contributed to their poor performance.

Despite the recent setbacks, the Warriorz set a WPL record for the highest total in league history, scoring 225 for 5 against Royal Challengers Bengaluru earlier this year, thanks to Georgia Voll's impressive unbeaten 99.

During his time with the Warriorz, Lewis also served as the head coach of the England Women's team, performing dual roles. He was appointed as England's head coach in November 2022. However, Lewis stepped down from his role in March following the team's defeat to Australia in the Women's Ashes earlier this year.
