In a stunning upset, the Switzerland women's national team, preparing to host the UEFA Women's Euro 2025, was handed a 7-1 defeat by the under-15 squad of FC Luzern. The friendly match, intended to be a closed-door affair, was played in three 30-minute periods.

The embarrassing scoreline was revealed when a young player from Luzern shared video clips of the match on TikTok, according to Swiss news outlet Blick. The footage, which reportedly featured Juventus star Alisha Lehmann and teammate Alayah Pilgrim, quickly went viral, amassing over 70,000 views before being taken down. Lehmann is a prominent figure in women's soccer, with a significant social media presence of nearly 17 million Instagram followers.

This isn't the first time the Swiss team has faced youth opposition during their Euro 2025 preparations. They previously lost 2-1 to FC Solothurn’s U-15 side but managed a 2-1 victory against FC Biel’s U-15s.

The Swiss Football Association has attempted to downplay the significance of the defeat. Spokesperson Sven Micosse stated that these matches against junior teams are a common practice in women's football, aimed at introducing a competitive element and focusing on the physical aspect of training. He added, "Regardless of the result, these training matches are very similar to our international matches in terms of intensity and mileage."

As hosts, Switzerland has automatically qualified for Euro 2025. Their schedule includes a formal friendly against Czechia on Thursday, followed by their tournament opener against Norway on July 2.
